Ioanna Patsioti-Tsacpounidis is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Humanities at Deree – The American College of Greece. Her academic specialisation includes ancient Greek philosophy, theoretical and applied ethics, and business ethics.

She studied Philology at the University of Athens and pursued postgraduate studies in Linguistics, Greek Philosophy, and Classics at University College London (UCL). She holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Athens, with a dissertation on the concept and function of reason (logos) in Aristotelian ethics. She subsequently conducted postdoctoral research, supported by a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation, examining the relationship between body and soul in Aristotle's philosophy.

Before joining Deree in 1996, she taught Classical Studies and Philosophy at University College London and the Open University in the United Kingdom. At Deree, she teaches courses in ancient Greek philosophy, ethics, social and political philosophy, business ethics, and American philosophy.

Her research focuses on Aristotelian moral philosophy, virtue ethics, business and organisational ethics, social and political philosophy, and American pragmatism. She has published books and scholarly articles examining the continuing relevance of ancient philosophical traditions to contemporary moral and institutional challenges, particularly those concerning leadership, corporate governance, and ethical decision-making.

Her recent publications address topics such as Aristotelian virtue, Heidegger's concept of authenticity, and the relationship between moral integrity and corporate corruption. Her current research also explores the potential integration of Aristotelian and Confucian ethical perspectives in contemporary theories and practices of moral leadership.

Through her teaching and research, she contributes to the application of philosophical reflection to professional conduct, institutional responsibility, and contemporary ethical dilemmas. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Philosophy and Ideas.
